Sunroom? Check YES or NO

During this unprecedented time and newly found season called “Quarantine” Chad and I have been discussing the topic of Sunrooms. Many thoughts have crossed our mind— thinking how cool would it be to have an outdoor/indoor space. A spot that you could soak up some rays while staying warm and enjoying a small task like responding to emails or simply reading a book. With all of the homes we’ve been in and out of in the greater Seattle area, the idea of a sunroom is far and few between. With the beauty around us in this area, you would think there would be more of them. This addition to a home seems to only make sense in such a rainy but lush place like Seattle.

Sunroom: This type of room (also called a solarium or conservatory) is a glassed-in living space typically attached to the house and accessible from indoors. It is designed to function as an additional living area during mild weather.

There are many ways you could dress up your at-home sunroom. Maybe you make it conservatory-like. Load it with greenery and woven outdoor furniture to give it a funky mid-century vibe. Shiplap walls, giving the room a fresh farmhouse appeal. A coastal delight, filled with bright whites, grays, and accents of light blue or nautical touches.
